SECTION 1

General Conduct

1.1 Respect
  • Treat all players, organisers, referees, and venue staff with courtesy and respect.
  • Verbal abuse, harassment, or discrimination of any kind will not be tolerated and may result in immediate suspension.
  • Disputes should be raised calmly with an organiser — not argued on the pitch.
1.2 Sportsmanship
  • Play in the spirit of the game. TF is social football — fairness matters more than results.
  • Accept decisions from organisers and referees without argument.
  • If you accidentally foul or collide with another player, acknowledge it and apologise.
  • Win and lose graciously. Excessive celebrations directed at opponents are not welcome.
1.3 Language
  • Keep language respectful at all times — on and off the pitch.
  • This includes in-app messages, game chat, and team chat.
SECTION 2

Before the Game

2.1 Registration
  • Only register for a game if you fully intend to play.
  • Your credit balance is charged at the point of registration. This is your commitment to attend.
  • Check the star rating of a game before signing up — it indicates the expected level of play. If a game does not appear in your list, you may not currently meet the standard for that game.
2.2 Dropping Out
  • If you need to drop out, do so as early as possible so your spot can be filled.
  • A minimum of 3 hours' notice is required before kick-off. Dropping out with less than 3 hours' notice may result in a discipline point being recorded against your account.
  • Repeated late drop-outs will affect your reliability tier.
2.3 Equipment
  • Wear appropriate footwear for the surface. Check each game listing for surface type — astro, grass or indoor.
  • Shinpads are recommended but not required.
  • Be aware of the team colours for your game — teams are usually red and blue. Wear your team colour where possible. Bibs are available at the venue if you do not have the right colour top.
2.4 Punctuality
  • Ensure you are ready to start at kick-off time. Players who are not on the pitch and ready when the game begins will have this recorded as a discipline point.
  • Arriving 5–10 minutes after kick-off is recorded as a Late Arrival discipline point.
  • Arriving 10 or more minutes late carries a higher discipline point.
  • Not showing up at all is a No Show and carries the highest discipline weighting.
SECTION 3

During the Game

3.1 Safety
  • Play safely at all times. Reckless challenges that risk injuring other players will not be tolerated.
  • If you sustain or cause an injury, inform the organiser immediately.
  • In the event of a serious injury, stop play and assist.
3.2 Fair Play
  • Observe the rules of the format being played — organisers will explain at the start if needed.
  • Call your own fouls honestly. Self-policed games rely on honesty from all players.
  • If a ball goes out of play, the last player to touch it retrieves it.
  • Do not leave the pitch during active play without informing the organiser or referee.
3.3 Organisers & Referees
  • Follow the instructions of the organiser and referee at all times.
  • Organisers have the authority to remove a player from the game for serious misconduct.
  • Decisions made on the day are final.
SECTION 4

After the Game

4.1 Behaviour
  • Shake hands with teammates and opponents at the end of the game.
  • Leave the venue in the condition you found it. Respect the facilities.
  • Help organisers pack away equipment — particularly at Saturday morning games.
Saturday morning games require additional set-up and pack-down. Your help is always appreciated and expected.
4.2 MOTM Voting
  • You may receive a notification to vote for Man of the Match after a completed game.
  • You have 24 hours to cast your vote. One vote per player, no self-voting.
  • MOTM results are displayed on the game page and the winner's profile.
SECTION 5

Discipline System

5.1 How It Works

Discipline points are recorded against your profile when certain offences occur. Points are assessed on a rolling basis across your last 10 completed games. Accumulated points affect your reliability tier, which determines your access to games.

5.2 Offences

Late Arrival5–10 mins late
Arriving 5 to 10 minutes after the scheduled kick-off.
Very Late10+ mins late
Arriving 10 or more minutes after the scheduled kick-off.
Late Drop Out
Dropping out of a confirmed spot with less than 3 hours' notice before kick-off.

Bronze
Reduced access. Games visible 24 hours before kick-off.

5.4 Reinstatement

Players who are banned can be reinstated. Upon reinstatement, all discipline points are cleared to zero and the player is returned to Gold tier.

5.5 Appeals

If you believe a discipline point has been recorded in error, contact an organiser or admin through the website. All records are logged with the relevant game and the admin who entered them.

SECTION 6

Credits & Payment

6.1 Credit System
  • TF operates on a credit-based system. You top up your balance in advance and it is deducted when you register for games.
  • Credits are non-transferable between accounts.
  • Refunds are returned to your credit balance.
6.2 Refunds
  • Dropping out within the allowed window will return your credit automatically.
  • Late drop-outs do not guarantee a refund — this is at organiser discretion.
  • In the event of a game being cancelled by TF, all players are refunded in full to their balance.
6.3 Guests & Friends
  • You may register another TF member as your +1, or bring a guest without an account. Both carry the same cost as your own spot, taken from your credit balance.
  • If you need to withdraw your credit balance, please use the Contact Us form and a member of the team will be in touch.
SECTION 7

Digital Conduct

7.1 Messaging & Chat
  • All in-app communications — direct messages, game chat, and team chat — must adhere to the same standards of respect as on-pitch behaviour.
  • Do not send unsolicited messages or spam.
  • Admins may moderate or remove chat messages that violate these rules.
7.2 Accounts
  • You may only hold one active TF account.
  • Do not share your account credentials with anyone.
  • Attempting to create a second account after a ban will result in permanent removal from the platform.
7.3 Data & Privacy
  • Your personal information (phone number, email) is never shared with other players.
  • Player stats, tier, and badges are visible to the TF community as part of the platform's social features.
SECTION 8

Enforcement

8.1 Sanctions

Breaching these rules may result in any of the following, depending on severity and frequency:

  • Discipline points recorded against your account
  • Tier reduction
  • Temporary suspension (White tier)
  • Permanent ban (Black tier)
8.2 Admin Authority

Total Footy admins have full authority to enforce these rules. Their decisions are final. Persistent or serious misconduct — including behaviour inside or outside games that brings the community into disrepute — may result in immediate removal.

8.3 Rule Changes

These rules may be updated from time to time. Members will be notified of significant changes. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of the current version.
